Faith Moments - August

Deuteronomy 6:6 - 7 states "These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up." Last month I (Deborah) shared about the idea of having intentional faith moments/times with your children. Here are some ideas for you and your family to consider:
Sing a song together before saying grace at mealtime.
Read Scripture as part of your language arts' program (or history).
Memorize Scripture together.
Post Scripture throughout your home.
Make Scripture banners – banners with Scriptures that are meaningful to your homeschooling, your family or you individually.
Play worship music throughout your day via CD/radio or an instrument.
Listen to books on CD together that impart faith truths.
During family celebrations, include faith moments – prayer, grateful conversations, etc.
After reading or watching something on TV or real life, discuss what the Bible shares about it.
The book Celebrations of Faith by Randy and Lisa Wilson has a wide range of more ideas of how to impart faith to your family. Most importantly, take time to do it!
