PLACES TO PLUG IN YOUR KIDS

As homeschoolers we are always looking for places to 'plug' our kids in to allow them to grow and be well rounded and have opportunity to try new things that will enrich their lives. Here are a few things that are available at Mountain Springs.

RESOLVE SPEECH AND DEBATE - Colleen Enos
Who we are: Resolve is a competitive Christian Homeschool Speech and Debate Club. We are a member of STOA Speech and Debate League. (
www.stoausa.org) We have a STOA state website as well. (www.stoaco.org).
What we do: Resolve trains Christian Homeschool students to compete in local and national tournaments to improve their communication skills and prepare them to bring the truths of the Chrisitan faith to the world in a winsome and persuasive way.
Why we do it: So that young Christians are prepared to communicate their ideas effectively to a dieing world that needs the love of Christ and to make them influential in the culture.
When and where do we meet: Every Thursday starting September 9th. Speech is from 3:15-5:15 PM and Debate is from 6:00-8:30 PM at Mountains Springs Church in the Summit Center at 7345 Adventure Way, Colorado Springs, 80923.
Cost: $60 per student per semester or $100 per year for Speech and the same for Debate.

LAMS (LEARNING AT MOUNTAIN SPRINGS) Marian Gracier
It's not too late to sign up for classes at LAMS. We offer all sorts of enrichment classes for homeschoolers in the community. Classes meet on Fridays at MSC. We are a co-op and many classes are free! Please check out our classes on the church website and see if there are any classes that your children might like to take (and lighten your load, of course!).
Go to
http://www.mountainsprings.org/ then click on ministries, then Children's Life, then homeschool and then scroll to the bottom of the page to find LAMS.
Mail in registration continues through August. You may even bring your registration on the first day of classes, September 10th.
Blessings,
Marian Gracier and the LAMS Staff.
